Today our Kindergarten class went on a field trip. We took the school bus to the Big Lagoon State Park. There we met 3 park rangers. They showed us some artifacts – mostly animal bones – and they went out into the water to catch some small fish. We even found a seahorse! This park has also a great playground.
Mom is in Crestview – and Dad and I are up to another adventure! First we went to the Pensacola Easter Egg Hunt (see pictures). I did not collect this many eggs, but it was a lot of fun. Then big surprise – the first time for me – we went to the movie theatre and watched Horton. Of course we had to buy a big bucket of popcorn and a large Sprite. After the movie I was hungry and we stopped at Chick-fil-A. This was a really fun day! Oh, I forgot to mention that we did all this with the bike!
Saturday April 12 / 5K Run for Missions
This is our first 5K run! Tim was one of the youngest participants and he finished the 5K in 42 minutes – let’s see if you can beat this! After the run we had breakfast – which was as fun as the run itself. Our next race will be the Fiesta of Five Flags 5K on May 3rd.
Today (which means March 2nd) we made a trip to Fort Pickens. We left the house at 6 am and drove to Pensacola Beach. The road to the Fort is – since Hurricane Ivan – damaged (see pictures) and closed for cars. We took off with our bike and when there was no road we walked – it’s a 7 miles (oneway) trip but Fort Pickens was worth it!
Friday is ‘Dad’s Day’! Dad is picking me up from school – normally with the bike. First we race to one of my favorite places – the library! Here I can just browse around read some books, play a game on one of the computers and of course we will always take some books and maybe a DVD home. Next stop is ‘blockbuster’ – you would not believe it but I also like this store a lot. Sometimes I can even talk my Dad into getting a movie for me – but today we only returned one. Now I’m ready for a break – you know a trip with Dad is always about finding a balance between fun, health and nutrition. Today we actually stopped at ’smoothie king’ – because I was so in need of a healthy drink. After enjoying my treat I was ready for our bike ride home where Tiger was greeting us. Now I’m ready for weekend!
Our school had this ‘reflection contest’ and I participated in the category ‘photography’. I was my first contest ever and I had to compete with much older kids – but I even received an award. I took all the pictures myself – using the digital camera my sister gave me. Thanks sis!
